The 2024 NFL Draft will be here before we know it, and as the league prepares to gather in Detroit on April 25, the football-watching world is rife with mock drafts and projections as to how the first round will play out.

Here’s a look at who some of the latest mock drafts from around the web have the Chiefs selecting with the No. 32 overall pick on April 25:

Draft Analyst Lance Zierlein sent speedy wide receiver Xavier Worthy to Kansas City in his latest mock following Worthy’s historic performance at the NFL Scouting Combine. Here’s what he had to say about the selection:

“Travis Kelce won’t play forever, so the Chiefs need to find another pass catcher to go with Rashee Rice (who might be an emerging star in his own right). The separation speed of Worthy — who set a new combine record with a 4.21 40 — is unique, giving him the ability to rip the top off of defenses.”

Charles McDonald and Nate Tice of Yahoo! Sports also sent a University of Texas wide receiver to Kansas City in their latest projection, but instead of Worthy, they chose another playmaker in the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Adonai Mitchell. Here’s what they wrote about the pick:

“Mitchell is a long and twitchy true outside wide receiver who would give Patrick Mahomes a different type of player than he’s played with in his career. Mitchell is explosive, a better-than-advertised route runner and a true threat in the red zone. If teams want to keep double-teaming Travis Kelce on third down, and they will, Mitchell pairs nicely with rookie breakout Rashee Rice and gives Mahomes another supremely talented option with whom to develop chemistry.”

Will Brinson from CBS Sports went with a wide receiver as well, choosing to send Oregon pass-catcher Troy Franklin to Kansas City. Here’s some additional commentary from Brinson:

“The Chiefs might address wide receiver in free agency, but they certainly need to consider doing it in the draft as well.”

NFL Draft Analyst Jordan Reid also slotted in Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy to the Chiefs at No. 32 overall. Reid wrote the following about the selection:

“Here’s the guy everyone is talking about after the combine — and in a pairing that just makes too much sense. Worthy set a new combine record with a 4.21-second run in the 40-yard dash, and he could thrive in Andy Reid’s offense. I’m not sure Patrick Mahomes could ever overthrow Worthy; the 5-11 receiver can run under anything. In Andy Reid’s offense, he could thrive as he brings a vertical dimension that the team lacked last season. He’s physical, too, but weighed in at 165 pounds in Indy, so that’ll be something to watch. I could see Worthy immediately stepping into the Marquez Valdes-Scantling role and thriving.”

Danny Kelly from The Ringer sent another familiar name to Kansas City in his latest mock, opting to slot Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell in at No. 32 overall. Here’s more from Kelly:

“Mitchell was one of the combine’s biggest winners. The former Texas pass catcher shocked a lot of people when he ran a blazing 4.34-second 40, adding an explosive 39.5-inch vert and position-best 11-foot-4 broad jump. Mitchell has size, quick feet, and elite athleticism—and he’s still an ascending playmaker.”

PFF’s Gordon McGuinness went with Georgia standout Ladd McConkey in his latest mock, which – like many others – opted with a receiver at pick No. 32. Here’s what McGuinness had to say about the pick:

“Rashee Rice performed well as a rookie — especially in the playoffs — but wide receiver is still a huge need for the Chiefs. McConkey averaged 3.26 yards per route run and dropped just 6.3% of the catchable passes thrown his way last season. He would give Patrick Mahomes another legitimate weapon in the passing game.”

NFL Media Analyst Charles Davis sent a popular name to Kansas City in his first mock draft of the offseason in Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Here’s more from Davis:

“You didn’t think I would bypass the new NFL Scouting Combine 40-yard dash record-holder, did you? Patrick Mahomes has helped Kansas City win back-to-back Super Bowl titles playing “small ball,” but this infusion of speed will have No. 15 looking to throw deep again. Worthy will open up the field more for transcendent TE Travis Kelce, too.”
