BREAKING NEWS: Cowboys Continue To Lose Talent To 1 Rival

Cowboys Continue To Lose Talent To 1 Rival

After the first wave of free agency, the Dallas Cowboys should be considered one of the losers as they’ve stood mostly pat.

The Cowboys have lost several of their key free agents the past couple of weeks, but haven’t done much to replace them.

The defensive side took a huge hit as they had several players depart, including defensive coordinator Dan Quinn who left to become the head coach of the Washington Commanders.

Under Quinn, Dallas had one of the best defensive units in the league and they were stellar during the 2023 NFL season.

However, now the Cowboys will have to contend with Quinn twice a season as the NFC East shapes up to be a more competitive division in 2024.

Anytime a coordinator leaves for a different job, they tend to attract their former players to them.

After cornerback Noah Igbinoghene signed with the Commanders, it marked the fourth player to jump ship from the Cowboys, via Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News.

“A fourth ex-Cowboys player has joined the Commanders: CB Noah Igbinoghene, as @john_keim reported. The exodus from Dallas to D.C. area continues. C Tyler Biadasz, DE Dorance Armstrong and DE Dante Fowler are already there.

It’s no surprise that Quinn would be lobbying for some of his former players to join him in Washington, though it does put Dallas in a position to have to replace more players than they probably would have liked.

The 2024 NFL Draft will be an important event for the Cowboys who suddenly could use an infusion of talent at multiple key defensive spots.
