Briggs put together an intriguing athletic profile. He has excellent speed and flexibility for his size. His speed is the best attribute he has compared to other nose tackle prospects and his agility is good enough to be a long-term starter. But for someone who is advertised as being so strong combined with an impressive number on the bench, it’s disappointing that he tested so poorly in terms of explosion.
Unfortunately his jumps are mediocre. It does suggest that Briggs has a slight deficiency in his lower body, especially if his upper body is as strong as those bench numbers might suggest. If Briggs can make up that difference in the NFL, he could end up becoming a more complete athlete. Despite the lack of explosion, his overall athletic profile has some promise and helps to paint a picture of the type of player Briggs is.
