While there were many San Francisco 49ers fans that were very quick to call the Super Bowl rigged following their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, now there is at least one former player who thinks the game was rigged in favor of the Chiefs.
San Francisco 49ers Legend Says Super Bowl Was Rigged
Former San Francisco 49ers hard hitting safety Donte Whitner made some wild claims and accusations this week on an appearance on the “Up & Adams”.
Whitner told the host Kay Adams that the 49ers did not just play against the Kansas City Chiefs but they also had to apparently play against Taylor Swift and the referees of the game.
“When we think about the Super Bowl as well, I think that the 49ers played against the refs as well, guys. I think that when we look at that film and you see bear hugs on those defensive ends, right? And you really see it at blatant moments in the game,” Whitner said, via The Big Lead. “The 49ers played against Taylor Swift, the refs and the Kansas City Chiefs.”
It did not take long for fans on social media to troll Whitner for his crazy comments.

Donte Whitner Gets Trolled On Social Media For Comments
Many NFL fans were ripping Whitner on social media for these accusations at the team had many opportunities to win the game. The 49ers also had some huge calls go in their favor in the 4th quarter and over time of the Super Bowl.
Fans thought he is just making bad excuses for his former team when in reality they just did not get the job done. Here are some of the best fan reactions:
“All these dudes do is cry,” one fan said.
“This is loser mentality,” another fan replied. “The Chiefs won because they played the game the right way and they also knew the OT rules. Both teams played well and the better team won. The refs had nothing to do with it. Stop with that!”
The 49ers had their opportunities and they just did not capitalize on them. While the Chiefs did not get a single holding call against them, the refs did not take away the opportunity for the 49ers to win this game. The team simply did not capitalize when they absolutely needed to and the Chiefs did.
