The San Francisco 49ers want to keep Brandon Aiyuk, but it doesn’t seem like he feels the same way.
Ever since they lost in the Super Bowl, the wide receiver and his brass have made a lot of noise on social media, sparking trade rumors and making it loud and clear that he’s not comfortable with his current role in the offense.
That’s why fellow WR DeSean Jackson believes it’s about time they cut him loose.
Talking to Kay Adams for her Up & Adams Show, the former Philadelphia Eagles star stated that the Niners should do right by him and let him be free, as they’re just not going to be able to sign him to the kind of deal he wants and deserves because of their salary cap.
“Let that man be free and go get a deal somewhere else,” Jackson said.

Aiyuk made the rounds for tweeting at Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin over the obvious similarities between the two, fueling rumors of his desire to play in Pittsburgh.
With that in mind, Jackson believes he could be a great fit, as they’ve improved their quarterback room, and they’ve just moved on from Diontae Johnson, so they clearly need someone else besides George Pickens.
Aiyuk is a very good wide receiver, but his chances of getting more touches in Kyle Shanahan’s stacked offense are slim.
They also have Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, and George Kittle ahead of him in the pecking order, and that’s not likely to change any time soon.
Maybe, it’s time to assess his trade market and get as much as they can for him while they still can.
